GRINDEX BRAVO application images
These images are from a dredging operation in a small harbour located in Stockholm archipelago. It needed dredging after the bottom of the sea was raised through the years.

The gravel had piled up towards the wooden bridge (horizontal in images), making it leaning. The water was less than 1 m (3 ft) deep and must be deepened. The white fabric (right image) indicates where all sand and gravel from the bottom of the sea will be pumped.

The slurry pump was mounted on a barge and hung in a wind-lass to simplify the lowering and rising of the pump.
The agitator gives the BRAVO pumps enhanced efficiency.

The two jet beams on the side of the pump were used to stir up sand
and gravel from the bottom of the sea to make it easier to pump.

The drainage pump MASTER was used for the jet beams.
The water was so shallow that the pump
did not need to be lowered more than this.

There was a clear difference between sand and
gravel being pumped and when only water came.

This image shows the agitator after pumping sand
and gravel for some hours. A stone of fist size
managed to get in and tumble around without
damaging the pump.

Except for some paint worn off, there is no wear.

A total quantity of 35 m3 sand and gravel was pumped.
After the dredging, the boat landings at
the bridge could finally be used again.
